Programme outcomes and overview
Initially, we asked Sweetmans to work in partnership with us to translate our leadership charter into everyday skills and behaviours that we expect of our leaders. Using these behaviours we asked Sweetmans to design and deliver a 360 feedback and coaching exercise for our Exec and senior leadership community.
The feedback was incredibly positive and resulted in us asking them to partner with us on a programme to develop the leadership skills and behaviours we see as crucial to our future success, and which underpin all aspects of our strategy.
We wanted the leadership programme to be highly practical and experiential. Sweetmans worked with us on a programme which included 360 feedback and coaching, workshops, and a “hackathon” style event requiring our leadership community to shape a response to a strategic challenge.
As well as gathering feedback on each programme element, we also gathered data, through a repeat 360 exercise, on the impact of the programme and our key leadership behaviours,
The data revealed a positive movement made across all behaviours and increased self-awareness was reported across the group.
Involving people from across the business in shaping a response to a pressing strategic challenge was a fantastic way for us to gain insight from colleagues and enable the wider leadership community to appreciate and navigate the bigger picture in which we are operating.
