Aligning Leadership, Culture and Ways of Working
Sector: Housing Sector
Business context
A purpose-led housing association wanted to strengthen alignment across its leadership group and support leaders to navigate increasing complexity. This included evolving the key roles and responsibilities of its Executive Team and Heads of Service in delivering strategy, embedding culture and achieving long-term impact through the organisation’s work.
What we did:
We delivered a joined-up programme combining the following:
- new leadership framework connecting values and behaviours co-designed (via focus groups and organisation-wide survey)
- organisation-wide 360 Feedback and one-to-one Executive Coaching, based on individual Reports
- a Leadership and Management Development Programme, including a ‘Coaching Skills, Beliefs and Behaviours for Leaders’ element
- a facilitated Senior Leadership Team Away Day
The work linked individual insight with collective development, aligning how leaders operate day to day with organisational priorities.
The Impact:
At a leadership level:
- Greater awareness of individual and collective leadership impact
- Increased confidence in adapting leadership style and approach with diverse stakeholders
- More deliberate and intentional decision-making at Senior Team level
At an organisational level:
- Greater alignment across the leadership group
- More open and effective communication
- Stronger collaboration and shared ownership
- Clearer and more consistent ways of working
Client perspective
This gave us a clearer, more consistent way of working together as a leadership group… our conversations are now more open, more direct and more productive.
