Team Development & Team Coaching

We partner with teams to raise collective awareness, align around key priorities, and strengthen how they work together in practice.

Our work includes team development days, leadership team away days, senior team workshops and team coaching programmes.

When Do We Partner with Clients?

In moments where there’s a need to strengthen how teams work together or lead together in practice.

This often includes:

  • clarifying direction and priorities
  • strengthening communication and collaboration
  • building awareness of strengths, styles and preferences
  • supporting leadership development programmes
  • onboarding or integrating new teams
  • aligning with wider OD or change programmes

Team development & leadership team away days

Sessions to create dedicated time for teams to step back from day-to-day activity and focus on what matters most.

They’re typically used to:

  • align around strategic priorities
  • reflect on how the team is currently operating
  • agree how the team wants to work together going forward
  • improve communication and decision-making

Team coaching programmes

We also provide team coaching, supporting teams to build awareness, apply their learning in role and adapt how they work and communicate as priorities evolve.

This helps teams:

  • design and embed changes with collective ownership
  • focus on agreed priorities and shape a shared team identity
  • continue to strengthen how they communicate and collaborate

How we work

Our approach combines team coaching, facilitated team development sessions and leadership team workshops, alongside optional diagnostics or tools like Creating the Team Edge, Insights Discovery or the Resilience@Work tool.

We can support teams through single team development days or away days, as well as longer-term team coaching programmes.

  • We start with what the team’s trying to achieve and the strengths and relationships that underpin their work
  • We focus on real priorities and live challenges
  • We support the team to generate and own its actions
  • We adapt the approach as priorities evolve

Client Testimonials

The support and guidance provided by Sweetmans and Partners has been outstanding – both for our senior leadership team as a whole, and for each individual leader. Their expertise and personalised approach have truly made a difference.

Sweetmans and Partners facilitated an excellent session at our all staff conference focussed on developing an understanding of personality types and preferences to enhance ways of working. The team exercises were engaging and thought provoking and Chris and Rosie were both warm and professional.

I believe there was the deepest dive there’s ever been since I joined the board into the question around the purpose of the Board, which I welcomed.

We’ve seen a huge improvement in both individuals across the team but the way the Leadership team works together. Has been a bigger success than I thought it would be, with a big improvement in both individual and team performance.

Sweetmans recently worked with some of our Management Teams to raise individual and collective awareness of our strengths and preferences and agree how to make the most of these as teams. We immediately started seeing the benefits, enabling us to build on our successes to date and giving us a strong platform for achieving our ambitious team and firm-wide objectives

The sessions were thought provoking, and the awareness they built around each other’s preferences has already made a positive difference in how we work together. We are already a well-established team, which functions effectively, but this additional insight has been so worthwhile.
